FAQ / TOKYO PHOTO SESSION

Frequently asked questions

Find clear answers on language, clothing, crowds, weather and delivery before your Tokyo session

Before the shoot, posing & communication

01I feel awkward on camera and cannot pose Is that okay?

Absolutely We start with walking, standing, eye line and simple movements the photographer demonstrates and adjusts throughout, then gradually moves toward more cinematic and artistic images once you feel comfortable

02Can we shoot if I do not speak Japanese, or if the photographer is not fluent?

Yes, visitors and Japanese clients are welcome regardless of language ability the photographer mainly communicates in Chinese and has years of experience photographing Japanese clients in Taiwan, without relying on fluent Japanese We confirm your intended use, preferred style, locations and important details online before the shoot, using translation tools for Japanese or English messages On the day, the photographer demonstrates poses, expressions and movements so you can follow visually without constant conversation If you have a new idea, question or detail to clarify, paid AI translation tools are also available to help us communicate

03Who arranges clothing, hair, makeup or kimono?

We recommend bringing clothes you like, that fit well and feel comfortable Try them on in front of a mirror beforehand and choose a look you genuinely enjoy We also recommend arranging your own hair, makeup and kimono rental to suit your preferences; there is no need to force yourself into an unfamiliar style for the camera If you would like help, tell the photographer in advance and he can help find an available stylist or kimono rental shop and offer basic color-coordination advice Photography packages focus on the shoot and retouching; clothing, hair, makeup and kimono rental are not included Any assistance, bookings and additional costs are confirmed separately

04Can I send references, photos of myself or my social profile?

Yes, please email your references and preferred style to the contact address listed on the website before the shoot Tell the photographer what you like about the lighting, colors, expressions or overall mood If you are comfortable, you may also share everyday photos, edited photos you like of yourself, or a public social profile These help the photographer understand your features, outfits and usual style, so you can explore which parts of the references suit you Sharing is optional; passwords and access to private content are never needed References guide the conversation, rather than requiring you to look like someone else or promising an identical recreation of every image

05Can I book a couple or friends session?

Yes, couples and friends are welcome the photographer specializes in individual portraits, which is why the website mainly showcases solo sessions If you would like to be photographed together, tell him the number of people and whether you want shared portraits, individual photos or both The published packages are based on one person; timing, deliverables and pricing for multiple people are confirmed separately around your needs

Locations, routes & crowds

06Can I choose my own locations and route?

Yes, start with places you like and check their photography rules, transport and opening hours yourself If you would like help checking a location or discussing a route, request it when booking and share the location details Assistance is arranged only after the scope is agreed Venue rules and permissions are normally your responsibility, allowing the photographer to focus on the visual direction and photographs

07Asakusa and Shibuya are crowded Can I get photos without people behind me?

An empty background cannot be guaranteed at famous sites, and we will not block public access Early starts, nearby lanes, careful angles and quieter alternatives in the same district can reduce clutter while keeping a Tokyo feeling

08Can we shoot freely at shrines, gardens, shops or cafés?

Not always; each venue has its own rules for commercial photography, advance applications, tripods and equipment Please check the rules and necessary permission with the venue beforehand, and arrange admission, location fees and applications yourself as a general rule If you need the photographer to help check something, request assistance in advance when booking and provide the venue details Any agreed help is arranged separately, rather than included automatically We will not shoot in restricted areas without confirmed permission

09How many places fit in one session, and does travel count?

It depends on session length and distance A walkable route in one district usually leaves more time for photographs Long transfers, tickets and possible overtime are itemized before you approve the quote

Timing, weather & unexpected issues

10What time is best for photos in Tokyo?

Early morning usually means softer light and fewer people Late afternoon and evening suit neon and cinematic scenes The recommendation depends on season, sunset, opening hours and your preferred look

11What happens if it rains?

If rain or another event outside our control affects the shoot, the photographer will reconfirm the weather and schedule with you the day before Depending on rainfall, safety and your preference, we can discuss rescheduling, a sheltered route or rainy-city photos Please also stay in touch if conditions change on the day; safety comes first

12What about extreme heat, cold or a typhoon?

Safety comes first We add breaks in severe heat or cold If a typhoon, transport suspension or other dangerous condition makes travel unsuitable, rescheduling takes priority over forcing the original plan

13What if I am late, lost or cannot find the meeting point?

You receive a precise meeting point and map link in advance Contact the photographer immediately if you are delayed When another booking follows, the original finish time may still apply, so arriving 10–15 minutes early is recommended

Price, payment & date changes

14Is the website price final? Are there hidden fees?

The three individual packages are ¥19,800, ¥39,800 and ¥89,800, which are the displayed totals for photography and retouching Tickets, paid locations and travel between districts are quoted separately before the booking is confirmed No undisclosed charge is added on location without your approval

15How do I pay?

No deposit is required; pay in Japanese yen cash on location after the shoot Once your booking is confirmed, the agreed time is reserved for you, so thank you for keeping the appointment and helping both sides plan smoothly If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let the photographer know at least three days in advance whenever possible Rain or other circumstances outside our control will be discussed again with you the day before

16Can I cancel or reschedule?

Yes, please contact the photographer at least three days before the shoot whenever possible if you need to cancel or reschedule No deposit is collected For rain or other circumstances outside our control, we reconfirm the day before and discuss adjustments Any separately booked styling, kimono rental or paid venue follows that provider’s own cancellation and refund rules

19What level of retouching is included?

Basic JPGs receive color, brightness and composition adjustments The naturally retouched selections also receive subtle skin cleanup Major body or facial changes, outfit changes and large-object removal are not included and should be discussed before the quote is confirmed

20Will my photos automatically appear in your portfolio or social media?
